HEADS WILL ROLL

Will be a short 60 second piece of animation. Character animation will be entirely 2D and backgrounds will be 3D ((HAHAHAHA maybe.)) But not horrible rubbery looking 3D, we're hoping to make the 3D look 2D. SAY WHAT? Think cel-shaded/illustrative type liiiike...Borderlands, or Sly Cooper. And what are we cramming into 60 seconds? Here's a flowery synopsis.

FLOWERY SYNOPSIS;


Mooch R. Nome*, a young teenage Opaque* of the OPA|CITY comes across a chance discovery while out walking his faithful pooch (pooch and mooch ha!) Domino in the Grey District Park. While playing fetch with his dog, Domino brings back a pair of nondescript glasses. Curious, Mooch puts them on after briefly inspecting them. Suddenly, he is overwhelmed by spirals of colour. Having never ever ever ever ever laid eyes on colour before, he goes a little insane. The colour leads him to a fountain at the heart of the Park, where he proceeds to step up, unzip, and pee as an act of insanity and rebellion against the GREYSCALE regime.


This antisocial behaviour draws the immediate attention of a nearby Grim* who slaps Mooch over the back of the head, just as he is turning around and preparing to skip off into the sunset. This impact causes our dashing hero to stumble, which in turn causes the glasses to slip and fall off of his head, shattering on the ground before him.

CHARACTER DESIGN - Mooch (Lauren Knight) Domino (Pamela Graham)

 Mooch is designed to look like a little shit. The mohawk came from my need to have an interesting profile, and because I thought it made him look sufficiently bastard-ish. The crazed jagged teeth thing was always a part of his character, even in the early design. Originally, he was a little girl. =D But then, he became a little boy. And then, he became a teenager. But he's only 15, so it's still wrong for you to enjoy his pee scene like thaaaat.

Inspiration for his design comes largely from Jamie Hewlett (tank girl/the gorillaz), and that's just the way i draw. The best thing about his design comes in the expressions he can make;

OPA | CITY

(( Okay. Imma be putting all my story crap here because I have a really bad habit of 'misplacing,' things...I'll at least try to make it easy to follow. Note that I said 'try to,' =D ))

With that said, scroll on down for a moreindepththannecessary description of OPA | CITY, the world in which our 60 seconds revolves.

OPA||CITY

OPA|CITY is governed by strict rules and seperated into three districts based entirely on class divides. As with everything in OPA|CITY, the districts are ruled over with an iron first. Everything is monitored as best it can be. Everything must adhere to the GREYSCALE, otherwise it will be classed as "contraband," and every effort will be exerted to impound the contraband immediately.

The GREYSCALE was designed to enforce and keep order. Mostly amidst the lower classes, thusly it can become lax in the White District.

The White District is home to the financial sector and some of the richest civilians of OPA|CITY. Things in the White District are more relaxed than in the other districts, it is a place where only like minded people are allowed to gather, keeping crime rate at an all time low. People in the White District enjoy a higher level of freedom than their fellow Opaques*, the creators of the GREYSCALE can be found here. Admittedly they designed it to keep the poor poor and the rich sitting pretty.

Next comes the Grey District, which is without a doubt, the most heavily populated of the three. It is home to the working and middle class. Crime in the Grey District is not uncommon but the heavy Grim* presence helps to keep things in check. People here do as they are told for fear of the reprecussions, the most severe of which is being relocated to the Black District.

The Black District is perhaps the most untouched by the stifling rules of Government. Its modest populous includes exhiles, criminals and fugitives of the Grey District. There is no Grim* presence in the Black District, only vigilante law and a dog eat dog regime. Being so openly disparaged by Officials, this is also a land of hidden gems. The Black District boast a vast array of contraband that was at one time seized by the Government.
